This year, 2017, marks the 25th anniversary of the LA riots. Many national networks are taking a look back at what is still being hailed as the most violent uprising in the US. As we reflect on the past, we have to look at present times to see how far we've come. If the string of police-related deaths in the past few years are any indication, we've progressed very little.

But why?

The black community is lacking in many areas. We need more ::

  • Loyalty.
  • Solidarity.
  • Love.
  • Passion.
  • Action.

Enter the game, a collection of lifestyle products inspired by the 25th anniversary of the LA riots, the lack of in the revolution and Kendrick Lamar’s fourth studio album, DAMN.

the game represents part of the solution, much like KDot's album. Through DAMN, KDot talks about the problems in our community and our power to solve the problems. We just need to push our power.

Since slavery blacks have used art, including music and clothing, as a vehicle for communicating the struggle and solutions to the struggle. Clothing is an artform; its a platform to communicate. the game collection communicates all the things that we need to reserve the power structure in our favor. It, like Kendrick’s album, represents our ability to send a message and mobilize around art, making the movement a lifestyle.

the game won't solve the problems in the community, but it can be the spark that reminds us daily that we need to strive for to reach our goal. It will remind us of what’s missing in the revolution for freedom. It will remind us what black and brown people need to reverse the power structure and win the game (of life).
